Does anybody remember the John Travolta/Nicholas Cage movie Faceoff? I enjoyed the movie but one thing about it really irked me. Whenever either one of them shot at somebody, they always hit them. 9mm pistol at 100 yards versus a moving target= hit everytime. Obviously that just doesn't happen, and with all the shooting scenes this got very annoying. What made it worse was when they finally confronted each other. Now all of a sudden they can't shoot the other one when he is 5 feet away.

What brought this movie to mind was that I just watched the Trigun episode where Vash confronts his evil brother Knives. Up to this point Vash can shoot behind himself, without looking, and get a ricchocet to knock the gun out of somebody's hand. Suddenly he can't hit his brother when they are holding each other or with a machinegun at 10 feet. I know it's only a cartoon but now I'm wondering who gave who the idea for such a climatic poor shooting scene.

In Faceoff I have a teory, maybe they don't really want to shoot at the other because it's like shooting at your own body. I mean how do you feel when you see your body standing there. would you have the guts to shoot it?
