Have anyone here seen this weird japanese movie? I saw it a couple of weeks ago and imo it's really a nice movie, what did u think about it?

A really nice movie? That is not the description that comes to mind from what I've read about it. I doubt it will be playing in the US anytime soon, no movie distributer here has the guts to take the heat it will cause.

From IMDB:

Ninth grade students are taken to a small isolated island with a map, food and various arms. They have to fight each other three days long until the last one remains and are forced to wear a special collar which will explode when they break a rule.

There is a sequel called Battle Royale II here is it's plot summary:
Three years after the events in "Battle Royale," Shuya Nanahara (Tatsuya Fujiwara)is a well-known terrorist bent on bringing down the government. In response, they order the creation of the "Battle Royale 2" program, and send a class of junior-high students to catch and kill him.

i'm pretty sure battle royale is out in the UK atleast, i know a few friends who said they'd seen it. they tohught it was good and mentionned it, can't be sure its the same film but what they said of it sounds like that.

infact i think it came out of dvd here, remember seeing it in rental store.

don't remember seeing it advertised at cinemas though, depends on whether it was before my years.
