was wondering if anyone here had heard of a series of computer games/ books called gabriel knight. they all have their own titles but are under that series.

just thought it might be good to have a discussion about it, as i've never really heard of anyone who'd even heard remotely about them.
shame as they are really very good.

I'm replaying Beast Within. Great game! Too bad Sierra stopped making games of this genre.

I have played the games; my wife loves them. I did not realize they were based on a book though. Or is it the other way around?

not sure if its based on the books or the books on the game.
but jane jensen wrote both, the books and the story in the game. think she had pretty tight control of the game, so that no one changed anything too much. the first book is certainly good, a bit different from the pc game, probably coz they added puzzles into the game that weren't in the book for extra fun.

really want to get my hands on the beast within book.
never found it though. only is in the US and even then is out of print.

she never wrote the book of the 3rd game, though i hope she might.
she even hinted at what the game 4's plot may be. but sierra aren't likely to continue the series and not many other companies would want to pay for the rights to it.

never played but certainly heard of Gaberial Knight. It's a classic adventure series. I think the 3rd game got a 88% from pcgamer.
