Movie title???

Need help finding a movie I saw when I was little, but didn't know what it was called. All I can remember about it was this guy was a door-to-door salesman (or something where he traveled) and he found a large case on the road. The case had a vantriloquist's (sp?) dummy in it and he took it home to his son. The dummy was possessed and got the kid in trouble for breaking things and doing other stuff and then the kid locked it in the closet. Can't remember much after that.

That was one of the few scary movies that made it past my mom. She thinks I'm warped because I let my son watch some.
There's another one that's hard to find because I'm not sure about the title. I think it was one that was made for cable that my uncle record and he might not have written the correct title. It was labeled "Sundown: Vampires Retreat" or something like that. More of a comedy, with Bruce Campbell, David Caradine, and a few other well known stars.

sounds like one of those dumb rl stein goosebump shows... but it probably isn't. but yeah i remember when i was 7 or 8 and i saw a goosebumps about a possessed ventriloquist dummy (i know i didn't spell it right). so i don't think it was the same show you saw, but you never know.

hmm, I don't know, there were a few Twilight Zone episodes about that kind of thing, but I don't think I've ever seen the movie you're talking about (it's not child's play is it, with chuckie the killer doll)

The movie I'm talking about is from the early 80's. I can't even remember who any of the actors were.

It does sound like the Child's Play series although he wasn't a ventriloquist doll.
