This guy is brilliant! A friend of mine gave me his book and I am amazed at how forward thinking he is.

Any thoughts? Anyone heard of him?

Yes I have read about his book on War. He is quite a brilliant strategist and is required readings for some business executives I think.

Btw did U read about Sun Tzu's book if U like reading this kind of books u might like it too. His ideas are more about the tatical deployment of troops rather than the strategic overview of the situation I think. I haven't read much about it though.

I've read Sun Tzu's Art of War and it is interesting, but not nearly as good as Clausewitz.

Carl von Clausewitz is brilliant as a strategist. I've read his book too. But I guess Sun Tzu's "Art of War" is better than Clausewitz work though (after allthe german way of warfare has proven to be great in the beginning but after that... remember the blitkrieg...)

and they probably would have won in the end, if it wasn't for the fact they had a madman in command. Btw., welcome to IW, arkan.

Clausewitz's theory of war being a continuation of politics is essentially flawed. It is an interesting concept and worth discussion is essentially a eurocentric concept of warfare.

Read John Keegan's book "The History of War"
