this was a tv show titled twin peaks like i dunno 5+ years ago? and i just didn't survive enough to watch it even for a minute. it took them a very long time, and not only that, it wasn't even centered on her anymore... as far as i can remember... so, who killed her? i can recall vaguely it was not of the family, just some out-of-the-blue guy... correct me please!

Hey Bahamut, you should really watch David Lynch's movie Fire Walk With Me (Twin Peaks' "Prequel")!!
It is about the events BEFORE Laura's death, and I enjoyed it a lot (but then, I'm a big fan of Lynch's movies )

Blue Velvet is one of my faves.

Does anybody remember what happened to Joan Chens character on Twin Peaks? Last i saw her face was molded to the wood of a dresser door or something...?

I agree, that movie answered a *lot* of questions for me!
I caught the reruns of Twin Peaks on cable and it really is an intriguing series. I love Lynch's work, he is so weird - and I love his obsession with background noises, very atmospheric (anyone who has seen more than one of Lynch's films will know what I mean!) - as Djinn Raffo says, Blue Velvet is a great film too, but creepy.

Did you ever see Lost Highway, Epona?
I love it, it's probably my favourite movie ever... must have seen it over 10 times now, too!
When Yorick was visiting here, we watched it too - it was so funny, that weird, creepy movie combined with Hugh's exclamations of "Noooooo!" "That is soooo f*cked!" "Man!!" in his Aussie accent!

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it yet - it has a very good soundtrack and the plot is brilliant (though it only starts to make sense after the third time you've watched it LOL). The filming/lightning techniques, the use of silence etc is all very well done too. Take note especially of the actor Robert Blake - he's superb! Man, I wouldn't meet this guy in a dark alley for a million dollars - or anywhere, for that matter

Oh, another thing I like about these two movies: the musical cameos!

Henry Rollins, Marilyn Manson and Twiggy Ramirez (guitarist in Manson band) in Lost Highway (Scott Ian from the metal band Anthrax was in a part that was deleted from the movie)
David Bowie, Chris Isaak in Fire Walk With Me

When I still had my hair dyed black, people thought I really resembled Moira Kelly in that movie (she plays Laura's friend Donna)
