Well?

I would have to say DL, much more depth...

Raistlin is a beter wizzard than Elmister..

Tanis is a better Lengendary leader of compainions..

Caramon would whoop up on Wolfgar in a fight..

Its beter. Not just the charecters but the whole world. This history is beter, the geography is beter and the races are beter. I mean in 2E in FR, the gnomes wear called "The Forgotten Race" or people, i forget, hehe, HOW CAN YOU MAKE GNOMES "FORGOTTEN"

I say DragonLance...What about you?

Here's a thread from a little earlier this year on the same topic.

Looks like opinion is pretty divided...

Dragon Lance has a great overall story, but the Forgotten Realms has great individual stories, if you see what I mean.

They are good in their respective areas.

I have only read three FR novels and at least 2 dozen DL books, so my opinion might be slanted

I recently re-read the original DL series and am still amazed at it!

The dragonlance chronicles and legends blow me away everytime and I think its much better than forgotten realms, I mean strictly the novels considering the best forgotten realms has to over is the icewind dale trilogy.

I would have to say DragonLance.

Ever since some of my characters were in a party that played the DragonLance saga in the pen and paper version of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, I was extremly fascinated with Krynn.

I have read almost every book that has been written about Krynn. The only thing that I do not like is the contradictions found in some of the stories. One of the stories would say that X happened while another will say that Y happened.

If you get a hold of the annonated chronicles version where the authors added in notes about the development and missing scene info they explain the contradictions example originaly Raistlin was put into school by his father but his father couldnt care if he lived or died so in later books they rewrote it as Kitiara paid for his entrance becaus that made a lot more sense.

I think this sums it up best. I'm a bigger fan of Dragonlance, but its far more easier to immerse yourself into an adventure in Forgotten Realms. Its just so massive. To give Ansalon credit, however, I've done a Dragonlance RPG and its quite amusing.
