Hey all, been a long time but I decided to head back in to munchkin land again. I do have a couple questions though.

1. Why does it keep throwing me in to one single party? Is it a default server setting or something? It is kind of a pain in the butt when someone on some other level does a quest and you gain a point of evil or whatever with no way to stop it. I am kind of a purist and it feels like cheating to get exp and gold for quests you are not involved in too.

2. On level 2 there is a manticore there that has an incredibly high AC. My barbarian and that fighter NPC from level 1 were swinging at it forever and only hit on natural 20s. It was a little annoying and really slowed down the pace of the game. Is it supposed to be like that?

3. How do you get unstuck? My guy got stuck up against a wall on level 2 and I just had to log out since nothing was spawning near so my guy could die.

4. Should I save set items I find? I have come across a couple, are they worth saving to try to complete?

Thanks in advance, I am having a pretty good time exploring around and messing with all the crazy items I find.

Hi

1. It may be a default setting, but one party is not usual for this server anymore. It has been one party for several days now though - still you get to laugh at people dying hideously on other levels!

2. Sometimes there are monsters that are a bit too powerful for where they are, you should expect that sometimes in EfU. My advice is to avoid it next time if possible oh and don't go to Muriel's gauntlet off level three, that is way to powerful for lower level characters.

3. I find that using the shortcut keys on the keyboard sometimes jiggles you free. That's q and e for left and right and (I think) w and s for backwards and forwards, otherwise you have to log of and back on.

4. There is no benefit from completing a set at the moment so flog them if you don't want them. I would like to see a benefit and Z may implement it later but isn't currently.

I hope that that helps a bit.

For question 1, you do have an option to leave the party if you want to. I agree it is kind of annoying being shoved into one party with everyone.

3) Sometimes typing ~makesafe (looks like "> makesafe" in green at the top-left corner of your screen) and hitting return does the trick.

I'll remove the one party thing.. I just thought it would create more combined efforts sometimes. I totally forgot about the quests and the evil points! Whoops!

And Set items will have extra powers sooner or later. There is now a program that makes it easier, so expect it to be added in the future.

In regard to #3, if the server is set to all one party mode, you cannot leave party. In a local vault, that setting goes a long way to preventing PvP stuff. It's not flawless, but...

ABOUT the single party thing...

not that annoying to me.
was interesting while it lasted.
though it was funny to finally SEE without having to check through menus and such who was actually online at the same time I was.

ABOUT the manticore:

I always found that thing difficult to face, but I discovered the Mummies were worse as they tend to gang up on you even when you are careful.

ABOUT the sets:

someone gave me a link to a listing of what one rather intrepid and brilliant former player had found thus far. there are at least seven or eight sets out and about, not including Durnan's Own. I wouldn't mind seeing a return of Nasher's set to this game, as I have never seen it all collected before.

Actually, Nasher's set had bonuses scripted to it if you had all or part of it as well. It sounds like a full time job, but maybe those scripts could be used to add bonuses to partial or completed sets in EfU?

javan, that was a disturbing picture.
*guffaws!*

as for that program, Ziroc, where would I find a copy of it? the one that allows you to make sets? I would like to take a look at it, even if I'll understand absolutely nothing. *grins* I just tend to be like that. A digital packrat if naught else.
