What is your favorite moment and area & level in EfU?

It's not easy, picking the best and most memorable things out of the mod...

1. What is your favorite Level, and why?
I don't know, I did really like what I saw of the lowest pre-SoU level (I think it was 9), the one with all the water and narrow steppingstone walkways, but I haven't been there since (what with the missing passageway to level 6) so I have no clue as to what it looks like now.
That area would have been a true maze if it hadn't been for the minimap, and had a great atmosphere. I could almost smell the growing stalactites [img]smile.gif[/img]

2. What 'Moment' or NPC is your favorite in EfU?
Finding the ZIROC trap. The headstone on level 2 also comes close.
It's the little (sometimes surprising) details.
I've also tried entering Choc, Chocolate and Ziroc in characters' deity fields, but so far I didn't notice any effects there...

3. Which area do you think is the best? (i.e. area, as in 'The tough Bone Golem area'
The Tough Bone Golem Area.

4. Most memorable thing you'll leave the Mod with?
My new most memorable moment: There were two players some ways down in the Undermountain when I joined so I rushed after them, catching up on level 5. One was a rogue, the other an arcane archer. The rogue left us when we first entered lvl 6, so it was just the archer and my part-time thief. As the two of us went on killing (he did the killing, being level 18 to my level 11, I just carried a torch ad stabbed a few kobolds here and there...) and getting killed (this was mostly me, because I don't believe in massive resistances/immunities, but fortunately he carried a cloak of resurrection), the bowman suddenly noticed he was starting to run low on arrows. We found perhaps 300 between level 6 and level 8, so he was mostly forced to use a melee weapon instead as he kept hoping for a merchant. Of course, I didn't know of any merchants so far down [img]graemlins/littleangel.gif[/img]
Finally, we made our way to level 8. Picking a totally random direction, I ran off to the north, and he followed. After fighting the priests he began walking southwest again, but I managed to get him to explore the house first. His surprise at seeing non-hostile folk was amusing, but I absolutely loved it when he discovered the man in the back, saw a store option in the dialogue and, through a throat tight with emotion, managed: "yay".

The ninth level. It appears to be more realistic to what I would expect to find in the true darkness of these caverns. It is so dark down there, it is beautiful. I have not been able to make it for a while, so I expect some additions have been made, but when I first walked into that level, I was sorely impressed.


2. What 'Moment' or NPC is your favorite in EfU?
Favorite NPC would be the hooker that told me to let Rikard know that he still owed her money! I thought I would die from laughing. Good personalization of scripting there, man!

I fancy the biggest battle on Level 8. For some reason that I cannot really explain...that is where I get my kicks.

4. Most memorable thing you'll leave the Mod with?
There was just two of us. Me and some guy from Texas, not even a member of IW. We had accidently found a new area in level 8 where special loot was stored. After filling our pockets, we made for the return but to find some trolls in our way. It took both of us forever to kill one!...but then I accidently opened a door that had about two dozen of them! My pal rebuked me for my ignorance as I muttered a curse under my breath. We rolled up our sleeves and dove in. Somewhere within 10 minutes of troll bashing, our levels began to decrease and I was sure Ziroc was having a go at us. After the blood had been spilled and we came out victorious, I challenged Ziroc to show himself and face me in my wrath...but he never showed. I counted myself a hero that day...until I found out that Ziroc had not decreased my stats, and the troll infestation was an accident that was never meant to happen. Still...those that were that will always remember...

8 and 9. 9 Because it's beatifull. 8 Because I've never fought so hard in this game any other place.

2. What 'Moment' or NPC is your favorite in EfU?
That would be when my party and I (consisting of me, a half-orc, some hacked character and an elf lass) entered level 3 and Z decided to strip the hacked character of his armor and thus leaving him half naked, the elf lass started roleplaying and talked to the naked hacker and all of a sudden one of the minotaur guards crys out "YOU NO RAPE HER". That was just priceless, I never found out if it was a script or Z himself that caused it though.

3. Which area do you think is the best? (i.e. area, as in 'The tough Bone Golem area'
The small tower on level 8, see 1 for why.

4. Most memorable thing you'll leave the Mod with?
See 2.

lol... That WAS me!! [img]smile.gif[/img] Anyone that wears armor that has EVERY defence, weapon, every attack and so on, I will screw with them sometimes.. [img]smile.gif[/img] The Minotuar scene was me.. 'You no rape her!' lol..

Hey! How did you get that lightning door on 5?

I really liked the additional monsters on 2 (The Lich and the others)

I also really liked the newness of level five...and I think there was some new parts to 4. It is always a treat to realize that the world has been changed and new creatures lurk...

OH! Yeah, it was the added spider stuff on 4 that I liked.

I liked the intense battle me, Chewy and a bard fought against big red on level 9. We were essentially spell-less, and even though we had been traveling with a high level sorcerer, he died soon into the fight. It was the longest single battle I have ever seen in NWN, but so much fun.

My favorite lvl is lvl 9. I like the atmosphere, and the epic battle there. It really promotes team play, and i like that.

Has to be a moment, when i had a party of non IW'ers, and they abandonded me in the tower, to fight that dragon alone, and i whipped her, with a bard. Ties with the time that CB Stig TC, and a couple of other IW'ers were in the same area, and CB ran to heal, came back, and the dragon was dead. CB said, where's the dragon, and I told him it was dead. ROFLMAO

Let's hear it for the old bone golem, he's the single toughest sob on lvl 2, and probably all the way to lvl 5, and I liked the maze on lvl 6, with the xanther guild thugs.

I've killed two dragons in the mod with a bard, well, the same one twice, and the same bard too, but i think i'll most remember the battle we had with red, on lvl 9 the most, bunch of IW'ers, and a ton of commentary through the fight with my bard. CB remembers that one, even posted about it the next day. That was a classic.

All in all, the whole module is good, and I'll always remember the times i ran out of lvls, or when we'd get to a lvl and it was empty. Real sense of accomplishment at those times. Thanks for a great gaming experience, Z, the work is appreciated.

PS, I'll also remember the evil crypt things, that kept teleporting me to lvl 2. Hard to forget those.

These crypt things, where did you fight them besids level 2? and when did they teleport you?? If it was recent, that is a bug, and I need to quash it ASAP [img]smile.gif[/img]
