Well...I made it into the Module for the first time, and was deeply disappointed that the thing crashed as I was searching my way out of the huge maze that is the sewer level six. I was near the top of the screen, and had just walked up behind some hill giants. It was their annual Hill Giant Convention, so there were alot of them. Well...they all turned around and looked at me in surprise and I winked at them as I pulled out my favorite hacking and slashing axes. Then the game stopped and apologized to me for crashing. Drat!
This is my review thus far... Something is wrong with all the monsters! I would just walk right by a red dragon or a group of zombies like they were running too slow to calculate an intruder in the area. Some of the smaller ones, and also in smaller quantities were running correctly. It's not my side, because my character was seamless. It was the monster reaction to me that got me wondering. Now I got a question. If I save my game anywhere in the module...and then close...do I get to start back where I left off? Does it work that way with Mods? If not...no worries...I didn't save at any point anyway. Besides those complaints and query...my need to express my sincere love for the area layout and design must be expressed! I loved how there were some tight spots in caverns, or dark as hell places that you could not tell if there was even a pathway there. The land creation was magnificient, and I have to congradulate you for a beautiful piece of art! Now...what's with the crash?

I'll field the save question, because, while you can save your char, you cannot save the game in the mod. Only the server can do that. As for the monsters, if the server has been running for a long time, it gets that way, from personal experience. Maybe it's a RAM issue, but I'll leave that to the computer gurus that we have here, for which I am eternally grateful.

The crashes and the Monsters not attacking happens when I leave the server up for more than 15 hours without rebooting. It's a NWN bug. I usually reboot every 10 hours though.
I have seen people leave, and they are on level 4 or something, then later, I see them join, and they are right back at level 4. So I think you CAN save, or they are using a third party app. Glad you liked it though! I'm adding lots more today to it, and level 9 is now open! |

No, it's not saving manually or using special programs. Basically what happens is that, when you log out, the game makes a note of the location your character was last in. Provided that the server is not reset, players will be brought back to that point when they log in again.

Thanks for the explanations, guys...now...if I were to ask the favor of being allowed to start in level 6 tonight or whenever...would it be granted me?
We need a damn puppy-dog eyes smiley.

I wish you'd been online last night when I shouted at you! Lol!
I said "Ziroc! I've made it to your Mod! Take your best shot!"...and then there was silence... Yes, I have three characters that I will be checking in to your mod from time to time, and they all bare the name Larry, with variable suffixes Larry Rock biter = Dwarf fighter Larry_Tief = Tiefling sorcerer Larry_Elf = Elf archer (fighter) I am just not all that big on creative names. Z: I think there is some support for semi-persistant servers out there. It may be worth checking out the official website or the Bioware Boards

Actually, poor ol' Rock Biter bit the dust last night. I erased him and started over with Larry_Dwarf...mostly due to changing some proficiencies around. I do not know if I like what I ended up with this time or not. I'll also have to consider if I will change my archer into an Arcane Archer when the expansion comes out. I just can't make up my mind.
Call me whatever you like! I'm still the same ol' Larry.
