Either run the updater and wait a while, or if your on a slow/unstable connection get the manual download here:
http://nwn.bioware.com/support/patch.html Alternately, if you buy SoU (recommended) you get to patch 1.31 automaticaly which saves you some download time, and if you get HotU (even more recommended) you get up to 1.59.
