Can't find Intellect Devourer

I killed the Head Gaoler and told three of his Former Guards to go away. The fourth wouldn't so I killed him. All I found on the bodies was a Halberd +1 and a chunk of ironwood. The devourer never showed. Hav I screwed the pooch?

hes supposed to appear after you kill the head gaoler

do you have a save thats not too far back?

Thats odd, when u kill the Goaler hes supposed to pop out. I didnt have time to warn the guards away, he came after me too fast, but he should b there....reload like DC said then, and maybe it'll fix it

if you didn't persuade all the guards away you have to fight all of them to get the I D

The Devourer "jumps" to the nearest guard, so you have to kill all gurds in the vicinity. Remember that the devourer tries to run away if it can, so it may be hiding in a corner.

No earlier save. Damn, I guess that I'll have to start again. What pain, to go through the game again with a 5th level Paladin with banded armor, a +1 Great Sword, and all the other goodies. I searched everyhere, BTW. Three times.

Also, just for FYI, there always is one guard who you fail to persuade at first. Try again one or two more times and you will most likely succeed and then you don't have to kill him. I don't know if it makes any difference or not, but I'm also a Paladin, and look upon the guards as innocent victims, so I made it a point to try to save all of them.

Also the intellect devourer uses invisibility at short times, so maybe that is why you didn't notice him? Hope it all works out the next time round! [img]smile.gif[/img]

well...you can import that character into a new game instead of starting from scratch

it still sucks, but its better than nothing

hit esc, click 'save character', and start a new game with a premade character
