I have played Baldur's Gate 2 and Icewind Dale, and now I'm playing Baldur's gate, I've noticed when I go to my inventory screen, the game unpauses, this is quite anoying during combat is there any way I can modify this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No. That is the "feature" that was supposed to improve the realism. Anyway, the only thing you can do is not go into inventory unless it's a dire need. In other words, save often and be prepared at any moment.

If you play in multiplayer mode, the game will stay paused. There are no real drawbacks to playing mp-mode. You will still be able to take NPC's in your party (but you can also create all characters yourself).

If you found out which files controled that function in BG2 and copied them into the overide folder of BG1 it should work. Now thats a long shot. Frankly I just got better at moving things in my inventory well getting bashed. If this helps you read my message about my CD not working and send me the file AREA000A.BIF.
