Well this is my first time thru bg1 TotSC and ive just explored baldurs gate
to find that i canot enter the section with the iron thone thing.When i do
the game shuts down and a message comes up saying:an assertion failedin
D:\BGSourceUpdate_TotSC\dev\baldur\infinity.cpp at line number 1707
programmer says:demand for WED file failed.

try looking at interplay.com. they have a huge list on all those errors that might occur. you'll probably find and answer there.

if you are running Win-ME you need to go to the Black Isle site and down load the Up grade patch for playing the game on other than Win-98 or you can search here on the forum. just look at the top of this page just under POST A REPLY and click on Search and then type the word Patch and click search.

If entering a certain area will reliably crash your game, it's almost certainly a problem with the *.BIF file for that area. Reinstall, and hope the file is transferred from CD to hard drive correctly this time.

If it still doesn't work, your CD itself may be scratched or corrupted, and that is a badness. You may try to borrow a set of CDs from a friend, and performing a FULL install with their discs.
