Some skills can be trained at guilds. You can train once at each guild once at each level of experience. When levelling up, put your attribute points into skills that cannot be trained (i.e. sorcery, gallantry, leadership are a few). Also try to make sure you train at every guild every time you gain a level. You will probably need to use one of the infinite money tricks to do this. Also note that the max any skill can be trained to is level 12.

Great advice, this also goes for Attributes.

Strength can be trained at the warrior's guild
Dexterity can be trained at the Rogue's guild
Agility can be trained at the Dojo
Intelligence can be trained at the Wizard's guild
Spirituality and Presence can be trained at the temple

So, when you level up, you just need to invest in Will and Fortitude

Yes. But remember, you can only get your stats up to level 18 at the guilds. I have also noticed that as your stats increase, Presence increases automatically. Apparently, the stronger you get, the more impressive your character looks. Besides, I haven't really seen any real use for Presence. Does anyone know of any particular situation in the game where a high Presence is needed (besides the minimum required to switch to certain classes)?

No, your presence doesn't go up automatically. It goes up by giving money to the temple. As far as training, you can train to level 20 at guilds (with the exception of presence - up to 18).

Another good tip is to keep you Anks until you maxed out a stat (level 18 or 20 depending if it can be trained or not).

Are you sure you can train stats at guilds up to level 20? From what I remember, as soon as one of the stats that can be trained at a guild is at 18 or over, the icon on the training menu says "(stat) cannot be trained anymore". And I already knew about leaving the ankhs until later. But I didn't know that your presence goes up from giving gold to the church. How'd you notice that?

Although the stat "cannot be trained" any further (according to the guild) beyond level 18, you can still click on the icon and it will give you an additional training session (will work twice for each stat, up to a max of 20).

Happy trails!

Hmmm... I'll update the tip in the "Best Tips" thread to include the boost for Presence. I never noticed that...

As for the usefulness of Presence, it seems to affect prices. IOW, the higher your presence, the more you can sell for and the less you can buy for. Unless there's a race variation, I've noticed that within my party (all other things like merchant being identical).
