ALMOST there...

Well, thanks heaps to those frequenting this site for all the tips and suggestions that got me thus far with all my hair intact...

I'm at Cet's Pyramid. I've been through the whole place, back to town to get my Valkyrie, got my weapons charged up... but when Cet turns Kerrah onto us, the whole system hangs!!

I've had only a few glitches so far, when leaving towns etc. but otherwise it runs pretty ok on my ol' PII 266. Now I am FRUSTRATED! I've reloaded a couple of times, been through the 'tech tips' and got WAY too lost in the technobabble... I have enhanced my virtual memory and closed down all other programs running in the background. I think I AM running the dreaded Direct X 8 though, but then why haven't I had a problem before??

PLEASE HELP!?!?!?! I wanna kill ALL the baddies!

PS: My character descriptions list them all as 'NEUTRAL'. Does this change to 'good' or 'evil' depending on how one behaves (killing friendly NPC's etc)

Oh yeah, I should add that I am NOT running the patch!

The patch is supposed to help with the Kerah situation. Other possible solutions:

Save very frequently. Hide behind one of the pillars until Cet leaves. Fight Kerah (no spells) until she asks for holy water. When she turns back to normal make no movements with the mouse or keyboard until she disappears then quietly head upstairs - again saving often.

If you still can't make it through the encounter then you might e-mail me your zipped, saved game and I can try it on my system - just to get you past this spot.

Thanks Zignal,I'll give it a go. Is it worth my installing the patch at this late stage or not in your opinion?

I ended up installing the patch midway through my first game, when every time I tried to leave Shurugeon Castle the game crashed. Patch in, crash out.

The only things I lost were some of the cheat abilities, like the gold cheat in the inn and the multiple quest reward cheat.
