Ive set the time all the way to slow, but when I hit the real-time toggle it always says "real-time set to on". How do i get turn based. I'm in the unfortunate position of being in the serpent temple with a priest who isnt high enough to know fricking cure poison so when im setting up stuff im dying little by little. One more thing - Are ability points at level up also somewhat randomn (I believe intelligence is a factor but is their a randomn element as well)
So newbie im still plastic wrapped. Thanks

Well, when you hit the real-time toggle, I think you're turning on Real-Time. Toggle it again and it should turn it back off.

Also: be on the lookout when you kill the Serpent Priests. Quite often they drop yellow potions which are "Cure Poison" potions. Use them as needed. You can also purchase unlimited numbers of these potions from the Wizard's Guild, albeit at a price!

By ability points, do you mean attribute points for the stats or the points you add to the skills? The attribute points are completely random; the skill points are directly related to intelligence: INT/4, and round down. Thus, if you have an INT=15, you have 15/4 = 3.75 = 3 points. An INT=16 gives you 16/4 = 4 = 4 skill points. If you push INT up to 24 (which you can with Ankhs and Rings of Mariin), you can get a whopping 6 skill points per level (24/4).

Hope this helps!

Set the game speed (on the computer options/game screen) all the way to slow (10) and just leave it there. Don't hit any "real time" toggle.

That should take care of it for you, mgdorsey!! (Hope so anyways! )
