i just now realized it after finishing bg/tosc for 4th time:i just cant understand why any1 would prefer a cleric from a multi fighter/druid cause in 161k cleric is level8 and fighter druid is level 7/8!! so..same amount of spells and the abillities of a fighter (2 profficiensy slots, extra attack per round in level7,lower THAC0) AND better hit points (cleric max is 96 and fighter/druid is 103 with constitution 18 both). The one and only reason someone to have a cleric is the animate dead spell (far better than monster summoning), for anything else clerics just no worth the trouble.

p.s. a lev7 druid can shapeshift!

Forget about the Fighter/Druid AND the plain Cleric: the Cleric/Ranger is the very best. Although only Half Elves can be this class, it is still the most powerful Priest. They have the same HP as a F/D, the same weaponproficiencies, they can wear all kinds of armor, they can cast both Cleric AND Druid spells, they can use Stealth, they can have a racial enemy, they can charm animals per Innate ability, they can turn Undead. Believe me, this character is the best Priest by far!

Shapeshifting isn't *that* cool (in BG1). Perhaps in BG2 it'll have some use, but I'll stick with my Cleric/Ranger (for all those reasons I mentioned before). Shapeshifting would only be a disadvantage for the Cleric/Ranger BTW (since his natural form would always be better then the animal/monster form)...

well cleric/ranger is good but druid is far better class.you know that in bgII the druid will be only till lev14 and thay dont permit druids level 15 (the exp. cap in bgII permits it).they asked bgII team about that and they said:
Q: Why does druid only get to level 14?
A: Because at level 15 and onwards, druids will gain many new extremely powerful abilities which are very difficult to implement properly. We do not want to put in a "half feature", it's all the way or nothing. Maybe in a possible expansion pack...
!!!!!
imagine ever for the very high standards of bgII druids are too powerfull above lev14!!
so it concludes that fighter/druid is the best class (imagine in bgII reach lev13/13).

p.s. shapeshifting is very cool.
in bgII if you play a druid you could shapeshift in werewolf and in lev13 into a greater werewolf.

p.s.2 well its pitty that doesnt exist ranger/druid cause hide in shadows is helpfull

ps.3 an1 knows what great abilities have druids level15 and above?

well stavalaras i have to say it's kinda very weird not to be able to get above level 14
coz if the exp cap is 2,500,000 (sorry but else i'll forget some 0's) are ranger should be
level (level 8 = 69000 so level 10 should be around 150000/200000 i'll become +200000exp for level up
after 10 (don't really know but i'm not going lower coz it's a worst case senario) a druid with
exp. 2500000 has to be level (2500000-200000)
______________________________-------------- = 11
------------------_______________200000
and 10+11=) level 21
but please correct me if i'm acting stupid again

and fighter/druid will become a level 12/15 or something
please recorectme if i am stupid
but don't tell- you are stupid -yust say you - misunderstand

Well Grazkahr again

Druids should then be able to travel through the Planes..., so they could summon all kinds of creatures, they could fly (shapeshift Bird), and all other things that have to do with the elements.

But I still disagree with you: why is the F/D the far better class? The only thing they have that a C/R doesn't have, is the Shapeshifting ability. All the Druidical spells can be cast by a C/R too. And why would you want to shapeshift into a Greater Wolfwere if you're a level 13 F/D (who will have any Greater Wolfwere for breakfast)??? Seems to me like the shapeshifting-thingy really isn't all that useful.

1)Rikard as i allready said druid isnt permitted above lev14 from the bgII team not from the exp. cap.
2)PaB(Petrarcus ap Bhaal!).Druids/clerics dont have the same spells (not all) for ex. call lightning for druids and animate dead for clerics and i personally believe for bgI-tosc that a F/D is much better cause it gains more levels from a C/R (f/d-->7/8 c/r--->7/7).For bgII i dont know.Still i think that turning into a greater werewolf is great cause i dont think that an enemy will have a sword from gold to strike him.Only mages will be able to deafet him but his fast melle attacks will make it pretty difficult (i hope so!)
