I've never been able to do it, but I think Rick (Xignal) has...or knows someone who has done it.
However, I don't think you're missing anything, unless you just want to get an overland map with no missing points. ![]() Yes...if you have a Pickpocket skill of at least 7, you can pick it off of him without being detected (actually, I've done it with 5, but I've had to reload). You can also kill him for it, which many have also done, but that's not exactly the "good" way of doing things! -Sazerac |

drobb-mi -
Wouldn't it have been nice if they had included a REVEAL MAP spell! I hate having blank spots in my maps! ![]() ![]() (are your caplocks stuck??) ![]() Wyv |

I tried jumping to the inner buildings many times from several different points along the outer walls of the castle. No luck - even with very high skills and running starts. I was able to map about 98% of the castle and then "extrapolated" the remaining pixels in my map....

Aha, Rick, so THAT's how you did it! LOL! I've used that trick before (extrapolating and airbrushing in Paint Shop Pro) to get rid of annoying cursor marks over the pictures for the GS Examiner.
Wyvern: Dang but I wish they had the "Wizard's Eye" spell from Wizardry! That used to be a lifesaver in mapping! Depending on how high you cast the spell, it showed you areas you hadn't even visited yet that were nearby! I am glad, however, that W&W made the "Spirit Eye" spell accessible at such a low level. The Wizardry correspondent spell, "Locate Object", was only available when you had achieved 90 out of 100 points in Mind magic! ARRGH! (Meaning most people wouldn't get it until they were around level 20-25...far too late to help beginners.) I'm glad Bradley rethunk that one! -Sazerac |

Saz - sometimes designers do get things right!
![]() But I really would have liked the reveal map/wizard eye - could have replaced Blood to Gold - what a GOOD idea! I'd still like to see designers rethink stat allocation - I really disagree with the concept that Wizards cannot be strong and healthy, etc! (somewhere in the distance I hear someone singing "Tradition") BAH! lol! Wyv |
