Ok im planning my third play through. So far I have never used a pixie and was planning to try this time round. Now I have heard that there is some triat that pixies get that suggests they may be able to have some kind of flight ability. Is this proven yet and what might the trait be called..??.

I'm going to play a solo game again so its gonna be a hard start with a pixie but I sure would like to find out if they can fly or have some kind of limited flight...if no one knows if they can fly or not then I'll make that my mission to find out for sure.

So feed back on pixies please....

The trait is called "Faerie Wing", and, from what I've heard, it doesn't allow flight. I think it has something to do about increased speed of movement and action. Davros (one of our posters) is one person who got the trait; Alicat is working on getting it.

Hope this helps.

This is one I better clear up before people get the wrong opinion - at the chat today, I was asked a couple of questions at once - thought I had straightened the answers out, but apparently not. I played with a pixie, but never got the trait. I am aware from very early forum postings (like about November 2000) that someone did. The nickname was something like Lady Blade, or Dragon Lady - something like that. Anyway, she didn't have any usable traits that she knew of - and she had kept on pressing the trait button in the hope that it would one day show to have a purpose. To her surprise, for her pixie, the button changed from the default dragonfire to Faery Wings. Her post was to ask what the hell that was all about. She didn't seem to be aware of how she acquired the trait, and I never found out. Maybe some item of major treasure generated randomly in a chest, or perhaps the Bongu idol doles that option out to one in twenty pixies - no idea I am afraid. I wanted to find out as much as anyone. Hope that clears things up Max.

Confirming search - date 22nd October, 2000 - Author - LadyBlade - reported having trait of Faery Wings that isn't in Manual(later report that this trait was confirmed by Activision on their website) - no details from either source on how they can be acquired. If you find this out, or Mercury's Heel is it??? -please let us all know.

According to the Tome Of Many Mistakes (strategy guide) Mercury's Heel allows the character to move 20% fast. No information on how one gets this trait and no information on Fairy Wings at all.

And so a "Faerie Wing" info quest this is then, I started my solo pixie play through. So I will try to document as much info as I can on where and when traits are gained and what new ability they may or may not give.

I didn't use the pixies because they get beat up so easily.

all I know is, according to the guide, that they are useful as wizards.

Max - since you are starting out again - check Traute's "some questions" thread - perhaps these are some mysteries you can solve as you replay.

about the pixies.... what happens if a pixie DOES go into the tavern? (you know, the one with 'no pixies allowed' sign up)?
