I go to Baldur's Gate city to get sailing maps, but I don't know how to get back to Ulag's(sp?)Beard village. I don't see it on my map and when I exit Northeast area the way I came in I just go to the Front Gate area. Anyone know what I need to do? Thanks for your help.
Pat.
P.S. I'm new here; do the "message icons" mean anything or are they just for fun?
P.

O.K., I figured it out. Thanks to 6 of Spades, I found the link to your site and there it was! in ch1 (((Run MCONVERT in BG dir ((for anyone else in the same situation (not likely) )) )))!
I haven't looked thru your whole site, but I really got a kick out of the screen shots of the chickens and the massacre; I mean, like, where did you FIND that stuff?? Anyway, thanks again,
yours, Pat

Cool--he's only on his 3rd post here and already I've been a big help! Awright. Grungi's right about Ulgoth's Beard, just go north from Wyrm's Cossing (the bridge to BG city).

The "message icons?" You mean the thing where you chose a jack-o-lantern, right? Yeah, they're just for fun, although they're best used to describe the mood of your post. I used to use the hammer icon a lot, but then I stopped because the hammer's kind of an offical symbol of Ironworks, and it wouldn't be right to use it for anything but "offical" posts. That's also why I don't use the cat icon much, as it's Ziroc's (our fine webmaster's) cat.

Some of the nifty screenshots on my site are from either
www.gamebanshee.com, or
www.planetbaldursgate.com.
One of those sites has a HUGE archive of screenshots (some of them are cool, some of them are funny, and some of them were submitted by Sparky the Barbarian), but I forget which one. Now that my computer's working again, though, I'll gradually replace the screenshots copied from their site with ones of my own.

Thanks again Six O' Spades and Thanks Grungi.
I almost tried going North from the BG bridge, but doesnt that lead you to an area that is mostly lake, a few wichacallet monsters (the ones with a doggy head I think), one super simple subquest and thats it? Anyway, I didn't got there cause I figured "go there, end up going everywhere", so instead I went to here. Of course what happened then is I started reading all the past postings and 2/3s of Sixes' site until I started falling asleep at the keyboard (Not because it was boring, 6), and I never did get back to my game. Oh,well.
I have more Q's, but they probably should go on a new post.
Yours, Pat

I can guarantee that there are no Gnolls, Flinds or Kobolds anywhere in Ulgoth's Beard. Although part of the map is taken up by a river.

you got the zombie map to the west of ulgoths beard, but no gnolls there either and its a pretty pointless quest map, hardly worth going there

What puzzled me was how come Pat could go to Ulgoths Beard, get the quest and then not be able to get back? Should have been a straightforward jump, but if Mconvert fixed it, so all well and good.

As for the Zombies on the Farm Map above the river crossing, they got the Midget Gems award for the least threatening monster in the whole of the Sword Coast. If you want to know why see one of my old Xzar messages, though I expect Six can still remember the reason., he keeps stuff like this in his encyclopedia.

its weird cos ulgoths offers the hardest quests going in the whole game and yet the zombie one could be completed with ease at level 1, why i ask ye WHY!?!! ahem it looks like it was added almost as an afterthought to be honest.
