I have read a few messages and read quotes and references to Boo and Waterdeep.
Now I have completed the Baldurs Gate series, and Torment, and Icewind Dale and they are all great. I do not intend getting into any kind of political arguement or discussion but I was just wondering. They are my only previous experience of D&D. I have no idea or experience of any board game etc using D&D rules and therefore references. My intro was with Black Isle and I am hooked. I spent many months in between trying to find something that competed until I found W&W. I have not played any previous game by these writers (and I must admit have not been technically impressed in some areas in this game but...!) the story and game play are great. I have recently had problems with W&W after installing a new graphics card. I was very kindly invited here. I was just wondering (politely) if we were a stalwart W&W forum or a happy gamers forum that is open to discussion. If it is W&W only I am happy to oblige - but was wondering whether open discussion and comparison were encouraged or frowned upon. Some boards are quite protective. Thank you! I hope I didn't upset anyone - W&W is great if not, in areas, buggy! |

I don't think anyone here would damn you for speaking about topics other than W&W here. I have posted threads about favorite and non-favorite CRPGs and there was no bad reaction.
![]() I myself first got into D&D type games with Pool of Radiance (1988?) from SSI, but actually cut my teeth on Ultima III from Origin and Questron from SSI. Once bitten by the CRPG bug, you can never be cured! Besides, we're made of tough stuff, it would take a lot of bashing on W&W to upset us! One thing though, as far as Wyvern is concerned (and most of the rest of us), no flames are allowed here. ![]() Mark |

Welcome Cathy!!
I'm glad Mark invited you over here! There have been many threads on this board comparing it to other games and sometimes just talking about games in general. I don't see any problem with such discussions/threads as long as the majority of the threads and posts are still helping players with problems. I doubt that we'd ever see a day when that wasn't the case! So enjoy the board and the wonderful posters here!! This is a special forum! Wyv |

Hi Cathy! Nice to meet you. We talk about lots of things at this forum. It is, as Wyv said, a very special place indeed. WW does have some bugs, but nothing that can't be worked out, or around, or over. I always found help here, even for bugs. As far as games go, we have played some of the same. I really loved Betrayal in Antara and Return to Antara. Have you tried these? Welcome aboard!
