Play BG2. Play IWD. Play PS:T. Play IWD2. Play NWN. Play - well, you get the idea.

Alternatively, play BG1 with a very weak character. A human noble or something else with no combat ability will do nicely. In solo play.

*ahem* Haha. There you go

D*ranged, here's a simple step by step guide to making your game more interesting.

Pick a spellcaster. Any race will do. When you get to the abilities, note the very first roll and store it. Roll again. If this roll is better, store it and roll again. Otherwise reroll without storing. You've seen three results, pick either the last one or the one you stored. Don't touch the numbers, just accept that roll.
Round off character creation and start the game. Buy some gear and get going as soon as possible. You just have to be sick of the first bit by now.

Get Imoen in your party, she's your thief. Now go play, but DONT touch the spacebar. And quicksave often. Resting is important too.

Now it's just the two of you, so aside from the game being more challenging, you'll level up faster, which helps keep things interesting. You'll also have to manage your spells better. It helps if you don't pick up any of the 'hidden' gear like that diamond, the ankegh armour, the ring of wizardry etc..

Keep a diary too, in, say, notepad, outside the game. Don't be afraid to make things up as you go, and to skip the boring fights.

Guaranteed success, I'm using the formula for my ranger/cleric now

I don't get it. To make it more interesting try to beat it without cheating this time okay? j/k But have you beat it with cheating.I do that after I beat the game without cheating and can get boring sometimes.

I did not laugh. The joke would have been better (IMO) if you had suggested

Elr

or

Lego

or

Galad

etc.

(I hope you understand this one better SomeGuy)

Thanx 4 the advice dudes. I'm doing an Elven/Half - elven F/T then dualclass Imoen to a conjuror as soon as I hook up with her. I was reluctant to create a thief but once this idea came through my brain, It's actually fun experimenting with NPCs no matter how much you use them every imcomplete game!
