Stout mines and the Dragon

I'm having 2 problems and would really appreciate help with both.

The first is the Stout mines. I can't find the spare parts. As far as I can tell, I've gone to every part of the levels you can access through the left (west?) trolly. I've also found the little elevator where you throw a switch (I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not).

Secondly, I'm trying to give the Shroud to the dragon. I read a post that you can't give it to him while he's flying around (I had been trying to do that unsuccessfully). THe same post said to give it to him in his cave. I am assuming that the "bronze fire beast" in the cave is the correct dragon. (If not, please let me know.) However, he breathes on me immidiately. I try to say "Elseramavin" to him, but he never lets me give the shroud (and is breathing fire this whole time).

The Bronze Firebeast is definitely NOT Erathsmedor. He's much further in. The firebeast is a machine that you have to disable to get further into the mountain...but first you have to have Dragon Armor from the Stout Mines.

Regarding the spare parts: On the 2nd big level of the Abandoned mines (the one where the elevator opens into a passageway that branches in 3 directions) take the pathway to the left. Then take the first room to the left. You'll see a lot of tombstones and the narrator will comment on them being out of place. On the left side of the room you'll find a broken cart. Right next to the cart is a seemingly useless rod. Pick it up; it's the trolley lever.
