just gotta know-

theres limited space on the character screen for traits/skills. learn too many and some traits/skills will get knocked offscreen. well, are these offscreen traits still active? as in, does the game consider you to still have those traits/skills, or does it just forget that u ever had them?

needta know, as im planning ascensions for some characters- if the game forgets your offscreen traits, then ill drop some planned roles, as there are other traits that id like active. (skills arent so big a problem, it generally seems manageable staying within 20 skills. but it seems that id like some 15-20 traits for just about everybody. argh)

also, to echo tarlA42 in another thread, which traits get kicked offscreen first? the first ones u had, the uppermost, the newest? does it ever get to a point where any new traits u learn dont ever show up?

phew. and finally, is the petition to HPI still going? id add to it, but im not sure if its been sent off to HPI already. wish there were more of us here. we need to sway HPI/bradley.

toodloo for now.

All traits keep functioning, the only effect is you can't inspect them anymore. Likewise for the skills, and you can even still train the disappearing skills at the appropriate guilds, just not increase them at level up.
Still have found no order in the traits and skills lists though, but I did notice the spellcraft skills are always consecutive. Perhaps they are sorted chronologically per category???

Problem with the poll: DW Bradley I'm sure would love nothing better than to make a sequel or a new great RPG. Problem is he'll need a publisher for that who can provide the $$$$ for the development. And I'm not sure those guys are swayed by 50 people claiming they'll buy it. On the other hand I say: it's not that much trouble for us, and we might at least give mr Bradley a bit of support; so go ahead.
( Have I already told I have a split personality? )

As carg said - the traits/skills keep functioning you just cannot inspect them.
As for which to just avoid - unnecessary weapon skills. This game truly favors swords and staffs - dagger for wizards is nice because of the Wizard's Dagger - but the rest of them you can pretty much do without. If you want to have someone specializing in bow - try to not make them need to specialize in too many other weapons.

I didn't fret too much about this particular problem in the game. I think you'll find that you can do what you want without the screen size limitation being that much of a problem!

Adam,
You can skip the Monk quest and still become a Zenmaster.
