I'm at the basement of DT, the one with the 4 dwarven guardians. Behind the guardians there is a corridor which leads to a room. Along the corridor there are a number of traps which my thief (Imoen) was able to detect & disarm exepct for the very first one. Can it be detected and disarmed?

The fight with the 4 guardians was tough, but doable. Lots of monster summoning, haste, buff spells, & a combination of ranged & melee attacks did the trick.

just don't walk up that corridor - you don't need to

P.S. I use the exact same strategy against the wardens

Yes, I'm pretty sure that trap can't be disarmed. Normally I avoid it at all costs, but sometimes that damn AI sends someone via the wrong route and then they're toasted.

Yes, I had that too. Very annoying. Had to watch the party members and make sure they didn't stray off in the wrong direction.

Yeah--I hated that trap on my first few games, but then decided to use it to my advantage: A Tank with the Boots of Speed (or anybody Hasted) can deliberately run right over it and not be touched by the Fireball--but any enemies chasing him will get roasted, and you can do it as many times as you want. Wheeeeeee!!!

What I hate is that the ONE Trap that can't be detected will probably kill your Thief with the first shot.

Imoen got fried once because she couldn't detect; after the reload I had Jaheira cast Find Traps and had Imoen disarm them on that level.

It is only there if you have Tales of the Sword Coast installed.
