You might be able to get a replacement disc from Interplay customer support, although I have heard that they will only supply them to US customers. Try contacting them and see what they say.

That sucks!!

I cracked my CivIII disc because it was in the case so tight. It worked for awhile but the crack kept growing and growing until it no longer worked.

I don't know how anyone else feels about this or if this suggestion will even work for ID2, but why don't you just find someone who has it and get them to burn it for you? thats what my friend and I do for each when we scratch games. and if you feel you need to justify it well, you have already paid for it once haven't you? you've already contributed to the game and Black Isle.

Welcome to our Forums, spydar. You may not have read the Rules and Regulations when you signed up, so I suggest you do so now. Here is a clip from it pertaining to your post.

No Piracy: DO NOT post links to 'warez sites'. Do not discuss pirating games, bragging about pirating or anything else. This will get your account suspended or banned. The only possible thing you CAN discuss is the so-called 'cracks' for no CD operation. SOME Games don't work on some peoples CD-ROM's. This is because of a special copy protection called 'Safe Disc'. But that is it. Anything else is considered pirating.
I hope you will refrain from any future mention of such illegal activity.

D*Ranged, I had to edit your scream to a lesser amount of letters to prevent the horizontal scrolling issue. Sorry about your CD. Maybe you can find a used copy real cheap. I would have also suggested the mailign in of the broken pieces to the manufacturer...and I think it only costs $5.00 for that, but I was unaware of a rule of U.S. only. Maybe the cost odf mailing overseas is too high for that transaction. Maybe ask a friend here in the U.S. to help you out. Yet, I do not know if they would allow us to buy international copies.

Here's a possible suggestion...Maybe one of the good samaritans out there who has finished the game could send it to you? I just started the game myself but I would bet that there are tons of gamers out there who would love to get it off their shelves so they can make room for new stuff. Just a thought.

Good point, Newbie. Surely there is sombody out there looking to sell the game. Here in the states, there are things like newspaper adds and stuff where you can go and post your desire to buy the game. I dunno if you have a similar system there that would get the word out? We can sell from the radio as well.

Don't be ridiculous!

What Spydar suggested was essentially taking a back up copy of a legally bought software. Making back ups is completely legal everywhere I know. The fact that the back up is made from someone else's copy and after the accident has happened is irrelevant and if that makes it illegal somewhere the law is clearly incredibly badly worded and I'm 100% sure that's against the spirit of the said law.
