Crystal Golems

I'm a Level 8 Fighter and along with the rest of my party, I can't seem to kill this crystal ice golem.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Try using magical crushing or bludgeoning weapons. The ice golems are immune to piercing or slashing weapons.

the crystyal golems are not as hard to kill as the golem u will run int i a little while! and all the weapons need to be is bludgeoning they dont need to be magic and a normal quarter staff in the hands of a fighter can do some ruff damage. but what i did was have it chase one of my guys around while the others hitit cause i does do some massive damage and i only had a 3person pARTY.

anyone have any tips on how to kill them golems with a solo sorcerer? what summons are good for this? any spells which do bludgeoning damage?

A solo sorceror should be able to wield simple weapons which include both staves, maces or clubs. Also, a sorceror would likely have a high dex, so try using a sling and bullets which should do bludgeoning type damage. IIRC, the ice golems have very high magic resistance so your spells are not going to help you much. I'm not sure which summoned monsters will do crushing or bludgeoning damage, but that's a hit or miss proposition as the summoned monsters are random iirc.

A solo Sorcerer at that point in the game is able to cast 6th level spells right? Do you have Tenser's Transformation in your spellbook? If not, get it at the first opportunity, it's a very handy, if not totally necessary, spell for a solo Wizard or Sorcerer. Probably the best way for such a character to deal with high spell resistance monsters such as a Golem is to cast Shield, Haste, Stone Skin and Tenser's (maybe some other buffs to flavour) and start swinging a quarterstaff. Or any other weapon of choice, of course.

i think she'll be casting lvl 7 spells [img]tongue.gif[/img] im lvl 10 and haven't reached shanegarne bridge yet [img]smile.gif[/img] haven't even destroyed the dam

she'll probably be kicking by the time she gets there, but is Tensers still useable at lvl 30? cause she's for a party i'll be maxing in HoF after soloing through until like lvl 17.

Yep. It's bonuses increase with level, and there's no cap IIRC. So the spell stays useful throughout the entire game. Even so much so that a level 30 Wizard or Sorcerer beefed up with Tenser's and the right combination of other buffs (Stone Skin, Haste, Fireshield: Red and Executioner's Eyes to name a few) is more effective in melee than a level 30 Fighter.

The spell "Lance Of Disruption" does crushing damage. You may want to try that against the golems if you have it.
