I have n idea how to kill all the dragons insid and outside of the den, when the commander says fall back is he wimping out or am i sposed to do something HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I think I know where you are, so... yes, he's wimping out. You "should" be able to take the Dragons without his help, so you probably just need to try different tactics.

If you have anything that protects you from Cold damage, now's the time to use it. You know where the encounter is going to occur, so use your Buffing spells ahead of time.

Try focusing on all the little dragons first. If the Captain is helping you, focus all your characters on the little wyrms to get rid of them. Once it's just you & the big white dragon outside the cave, try to pull your Fighters back & use Summon spells to occupy it. Hit it with missile weapons, Magic Missiles, Mordenkainen's Force Missiles, & any Fire spells from a distance. If you run out of those, close to melee range, but be prepared to retreat quickly for healing.

That's just general tactics, so if you're still having trouble, give us your party breakdown (race/class/level/weapons/etc.) & more specific advice might be avaialable.

Oh, &... as soon as you win this fight... SAVE YOUR GAME! Trust me on this one... [img]smile.gif[/img]

Humm... what captain? I don't remember ever seeing a camptain in that part.

If you fight this battle outside the cave, have your archers and mages in the party run away from the battle to (a) open the range and (b) get outside the area of effect of the icy breath attacks.

Been a while since I've fought this battle, but IIRC I concentrated on taking the white dragon down first and then dealt with the kiddies. The kiddies are annoying. Mommy or Daddy dragon are more dangerous.

Ok, since I didn't miss that something in town - what happens? Does our fine CPT do anything interesting or just run from these wyrms?

Someone else will have to say. I never missed that "something" myself, but I knew from several earlier threads that Mariner appears here. I also have a rather vague recollection that he may show up in some other location, as well. But in one or the other place, truth eventually outs, so to speak

The Captain will appear here & offer to help you (although he's not a lot of help - almost like he's trying to get you killed or something [img]smile.gif[/img] ).

After the fight, you can talk to him & achieve the same results you are familiar with or, if you don't talk to him & you finish with the inside of the cave, he'll reveal his true colors.

It's better to just deal with him as soon as possible, though.
