In the wodded area with all the stoned adventurers and the Basilisks, I encountered a stoned young woman that i was able to revive. When I did, she became hostile, and by killing her, i got the customary reputation hit that comes with killing an innocent. Well, IIRC, the Old Mage(?) who has charmed the Basilisks mentioned his daughter being stoned. So, is that young woman his daughter? Is her hostility a glitch? Does she have any importance, quests, items from quests, and so on? And why don't I get the reputstion hit when crushing her stoned form? Sorry for so many questions.

Hmm, that is really weird! I've never had that happen.

If I am not mistaken her name is Tamah and for freeing her from stone you should receive 300 xp and a +1 reputation point. Perhaps you unstoned the wrong person! Maybe it really is his daughter and she is mad as all get out. Put your cursor on all statues until you get one that says Tamah. Let us know how it turns out.

Well, it was a while when I did this, and I was just wondering. But now I remember. That was her (and there is only ONE person who can be revived), but she was mad as heck. It she couldn't be mad at me for killing her father, cause i hadn't met him yet. The only thing i can even think of is that she had a Chaotic Neutral alignment, and my 20 reputation was a breaking point for her (I'll have to find my alignment breaking point tables later to be sure), or that she had something to do with me defeating Shar-Teel (not killing, though), then not allowing her to join me. It couldn't be that i had hit her while she was stoned, because that would break her into tiny bits. Well, I'm currently in Durlag's Tower, and almost to the Exp. Cap, so 300 is small potatoes. I might add that I am currently juggling BG in the Tower, BG2 at the beginning, IWD in TotL, and PS:T at the beginning, so my memory of this event may be slightly off, but I have most of thios correct. Thanks!

The reputation breaking points do not affect those outside of your party to my knowledge.

When I encountered Silke, an evil bard, in Beregost, I had a rep. of 20 and she was perfectly amiable.

Well, I always assumed that the reputation would affect anyone. I found the tables, and a 20 reputation will make a neutral caracter unhappy, and a an evil character break. Anyways, after thinking some more about the encounter, I knew that i could unstone her because of the circle under her (just like Branwen). But she was hostile when i first saw her. So maybe it was my Shar-Teel theory, or maybe a glitch altogether. But the thing to remember about Silke is that she wants you to do somehing for you (and IIRC, it drops your Rep. 2 points). She has to be nice at first. And if you go with her, she assumes you are evil, and leaves, and Garrick is ticked at you. But if you don't go with her, she attacks you. So thats the way BIS works their magic I guess.

"NPC Reaction Toward Reputation" table refers to party members, not to Silke Tamah or other NPCs. Reputation has some effect on reaction (manual, page 145.), and on item cost.

I just came across Tamah last night in my play and once again I got a favorable reaction and the experience to follow. One thing I did notice most carefully and that is the number of responses you can give. Think it might be your choice of responses that sets her off?

Vedran true enough, but I have yet to see an NPC go buck on me because of my rep.

OK, I guess I'm not being clear. From the very moment I saw her on my screen (stoned form and all), there was a red circle under her. So, I figured she was had some great items or something. Well, I'm not entirely sure exactly what happened, but I had no dialogue with her. She way have said something to the effect of 'Die, fool' when i used the scroll, but I was not given any choice to respond to her with. At first, I killed her, and got the reputation hit. Reload. Killed that mage with the Basilisks first, then returned. No good. So finally, I crushed her in stone form, took the gold that was dropped (I have no idea why the gold didn't turn to stone along with her), and left, slightly richer, still highly reputable, and really freakin confused. What do you say about that?

I've been following BG1 since it first came out. I have read tons - and I mean TONS - of posts on everything imanagable from scores of people on different boards through the years. I have NEVER read of your predicament. Most odd indeed concerning that red circle BEFORE you even change her from stone to flesh. I'd actually contact Interplay and Bioware because I think your issue is one for the books.
