What happens after Chapter 7?

What I'm wondering is when the Tales expansion comes in. I just started chapter 7, and I haven't done any of the Tales maps yet. Does the game end after chapter 7, or do I then move onto the Tales story line? Before I go back to BG should I go do the Tales maps?

It ends with chapter 7. You can do the new quest whenever you want before.

What happens after Chapter 7?
You beat the game that's what happens.

Unlike in the Table top game where you never truly "beat the game" you merely accomplish a quest, and grow stronger.

You will need to finish Tales first as when you beat Sarevok the game ends.
