I'm getting a new computer cause this pentium II is old but the prob is i'm half-way through Baldurs Gate and i want to continue the game on the new computer. Is there any way to do this? perhaps using a floppy or burning a disk? i'll hate to start over again.

If you go to the BG main directory you'll see a folder called "Save". In there are all your savegames from the singleplayer game, those of the multiplayer game are in a folder called "MPSave". Just copy them to a floppy and return them to the BG main directory once you've installed it on your new computer.
