After exiting Durlag's Tower they appeared and requested a Dagger of Soultaking, which I (STUPID) gave away. Afterwards they attacked and were killed but killed my Mage. Who are they? Where can I find them again?

You might want to stop in the Inn/Shop at Ulgoth's Beard and speak to the Dwarf who asked you to retrieve the dagger for him; he'll enlighten you on what must be done and where. The cult/clan are in one of the houses to the left of the inn, though I would careful about just waltzing in. The cult wanted that dagger for a reason, and you might want to be prepared for that reason--seek the dwarf, rest well, have spells memorized (esp. dispel magic), restock your missile weapons, and bring healing potions. Note: even if you hadn't "given" the dagger away, they would've stolen it from you--this subplot WILL happen, whether you like it or not. It's tough, but you'll come to appreciate it.
