I am on the third quest from the wandering village, the one were the widow asks you to find out what happened to her son-inlaw or more of her step son inlaw. In the forgotten forest the Hunter spirit says he will tell me what he knows if I dim the lights, I think he is talking about the will-o'-the wisp but I am not sure since I don't seem to be able to attack or use magic on them.
What am I suppose to do? Is there some area I have missed in the Forgotten Forest if so how do I get their? Directions from, start, wolf den, druid healer area, or the spider area would be helpful. I seem to be just wandering now, getting no where. [ 03-10-2003, 12:18 AM: Message edited by: pritchke ] |

The Sorcerer's Palace has a couple of walk throughs detailing this confounding forest.
http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD2/index.htm One really aggravating part of this is several areas look exactly the same and you can only know they are different by the text when you first enter them or Use the x key to check your co-ordinates and also find which map you are on. The three will-o-wisps are a bit tricky as they teleport away when injured and then sometimes try and appear behind your party. |

You were on the right track with those Will-o-wisps. Just go back to their area and kill them. They're a bit tricky, but by no means invulnerable. They have a very high spell resistance, so don't bother with magic. Have your best fighter(s) protected from electricity and send them after the lights. They're hard to hit, so it may take a while. Plus they will disappear when hit, but they'll be back after a few seconds, and they don't heal while they're away. So just persevere and they'll bite the dust eventually.

Also, a bit of mass haste, or otherwise haste on your takers would be nice to speed the process
