OK, so if you were thinking of trying this, I would recommend against it. I had a party of six fighters, each specializing in a different type of weapon. Everyting was going fine until the monsters started dropping traps everywhere and locking things up (I guess they heard me coming what with all the noise). I must say they did ravage the lower level countryside, however. At the higher levels, well lemmie just say that a confused fighter + 18/90 STR + two-handed sword + the middle of your party = bad news.

Agreed, Warboss. Always, but always have a thief in the party for those pesky traps and locked chests.....I never leave home without one . But I don't know why you couldn't have a party of four fighters (include rangers, please ), a cleric (for healing) and a thief or some mixed classing therein.

If i was you i'd save every 5 seconds and when you come across a trap, make a new character and tell them to walk straight through it.(it worked for me)It triggers thr trap and your party can stroll on ahead.

Well, my present party has a mage--who, btw is the running joke of the household--and while he has some use (and is, indeed, in possession of really nice high level spells) he spends a goodly part of the game being resurrected by the cleric! Magical idiot seems to feel he's bulletproof and runs straight into danger without regard to his own vulnerabilities.........You'd think with such intelligence....

Quite frankly, I haven't yet found any situation I couldn't get out of without using him, so I'd say if you have your fighters and a cleric and a thief--you're good to go.

Well I wouldnt even go there . I mean IWD was specifically made for party use . So I'd at least stick a Cleric in that party and perhaps a Thief.

That's funny...

Party of Fighters: Hi,there, New Guy. Welcome to the party.

New Guy: Gee, thanks, fellas. I can't wait to start the
hacking and slashing.

PoF: That's great, New Guy. By the way, that's a real
snappy red shirt you've got there.

NG: Oh, thanks. I like red.

PoF: I've got an idea. Since you're so eager to get
some, why don't you take the lead?

NG: Me? Take point? WOW! That's great! (walking ahead)

*click*

NG: OW! I think something just bit me on the leg.
Oh... I feel kinda woozy.

PoF: It's just nerves. Have a seat for a bit. -- Bob,
mark that tile, OK?

NG: I'm really sleepy all of a sudden. And kinda
queezy.

PoF: We'll make camp here for the night. (NG nods
off.) NEXT!

Why wasn't he turned into a little white cube? I'm sorry, but it is against the law to do a Star Trek parody without including the red shirt wearers being turned into little white cubes, damn it.
