Hey All! Just thought I'd ask what everybody's favourite wepon is in bg1? I'd say apart from the Defender, since that goes without saying!

Was wondering which of the 2 messages to reply to for a moment there...
I didn't really get a chance to filch Drizzt's scimitars from him as I didn't know it was possible at that time , but anyway, for close-up melee I would prefer Greywolf's Longsword +2 / (evil cleric's) warhammer +2 which dishes out cold/electrical damage as well; for ranged weapons, Composite Long Bow +1 for sheer damage and Bow of Marksmanship for accuracy (ie. THAC0), and Eagle's Bow for my thieves. Btw, in Tales of the Sword Coast (TSC), the Staff-Mace and Staff-Spear are also quite good weapons by themselves. Anyone want to comment on "Flametongue"?? It kinda bears an uncanny resemblance to the flaming sword Battle Horrors wield... |

flametoungue stinks compared to greywolf's. i like world's edge (if that's it's name, the 2 handed+2). i like the throwing axe that comes back, can't remember the name, and i like long bow of marksmenship. that's about it. my almost melee only ranger in my last game used defender, the throwing axe (for the occaisonal gibberling i didn't wanna run up to., and i also had the other axe equipped, ummm... forgot the name, but it casts miscast magic, and has no other magical enhancements.

Just for accuracy's sake, World's Edge is a 2-handed sword +3 (not +2).
Btw, I tried Bala's Axe on my own spell-caster (Dynaheir), but she still managed to pull off a few spells. All in all, I would prefer a 100% certainty in knowing that my opponent is unable to cast spells rather than an 80% - so it's back to firing those rather nasty arrows of biting (the poisoning effect is rather neat) at those pesky mages/clerics ... |

Bastard Sword +1 suits me. Considering all warriors carry one.
Min damage 3, Max damage 9. |

Long Sword +2 does 3-10 points of damage and one point better THAC0, and thiefs can use it.
