with baldur's gate, you can have good, neutral or evil alignments, but you perform the same 'good' tasks whether or not your're good evil or neutral. is there a game advanced enought to have multiple possible endings, depending on the way you play it, and who you are?

Yes, it's called Fallout. They sell it today in a bundle pack with both the first and second instalment.

Planescape: Torment starts you off as a True Neutral. Subsequent actions and decisions you make will affect your alignment.

Any of the Daggerfall games run along those exact premises. The actions you take, dispite your race, affect how people view you, and the final decisions you make at the end determine the outcome of the game.

The ending of Fallout 2 is one of the best I've seen in CRPGs. The ending movie will show you the consequences of your decisions of all the major quests you did (and didn't do) throughout the game.

Cool game, Fallout 2. I highly recommend it.

I suppose Deus Ex qualifies - it IS an RPG, though you don't choose an alignemnt per se - what you do affects how people treat you - I think there are five separate ending to the game - you choose which one you want by your actions, not some bit of scripting
