Im just wondering if it's true that elves get a bonus using longbows.
If yes, does this apply to composite longbows as well?

I'm not sure, but they should. Try creating a Halfling and an Elf with the same DEX score, class and level, and compare THAC0's while equipped with the same bows to test it out.

I'm not really acquainted with the PnP rulesets of the D&D games, but if it's in there, it "should" be the case. but the BG series has left many of the more intricate rules out, % chance of surviving a revive spell for instance is always 100% regardless of con. or race.

So it wouldn't surprise me if it had no impact on longbow/composite skills regardless of the race you choose. Note: just cuz it says so in the manual, doesn't necesarily mean it is.

Yes. Elves Get bonus with longbow and longsword (including composite lbow), and halflings get bonus with sling.

ZFR. what about Short Bows, Shortswords, and Composite Bows?

BTW, I know Elves get a bonus with Kantana and Two Handed Swords too (although they shouldn't).

That's odd. With my testing, the only bow an elf gets a bonus on is the Longbow... and the only swords are katanas, Two handers, and longswords.
