I Hate Valygar

By the end of TOB I checked his kill percent 4 %, and with Dakon Zerth and CF, this really shouldn't be happening. I BS with him, but my paladin and my other fighter do most of the melee damage. What am I doing wrong?

Why is he using DZB? It's only real benefit is to spellcasters.

Now, if you had invested some points in hammers and stuck Crom Faeyr in his offhand, he's be doing a little bit better.

I agree with you anyway, I hate Valygar. He's reaaally boring.

A Warrior who can Backstab ain't boring, but if he never talks, then.....then there are Banter Packs to download to alleviate the problem.

Valygar with only 4% of the kills? That is NOT right, unless he's competing with people like Korgan, Minsc, and a high-level Edwin. Perhaps he got Imprisoned or Petrified 3/4ths of the way through the game, which might reset his Kill Counter. Really, as long as he's got 2 proficiency points in a decent weapon, he's good to go. (Just don't use him as a Tank.)

Hmm, he is better Tank than Korgan IMO. At least in TOB. Why? Certain TOB HLA + DoE (in off hand) + AoF gives him 85% physical resistance! And his armor combined with items also gives plenty of protection.
He is good to Tank even on "Insane difficulty"!

I have to agree, something is defiantly wrong with Valygar’s kill stats.

Have him dump Dakon Zerth though, no reason for him to be using it. There are so many great weapons he can use and since he collects a proficiency slot shortly after taking him there really are few limits for his off hand. I tend to like giving him a proficiency in long swords as there are so many reasonably good ones available. I tend to give him DayStar as it has good abilities and is available early on.

Valygar is a fantastic NPC, in my opinion. You're kill stats sound a little off...was he petrified or did you dump him from your group? Just some ideas...

I have him dual wielding the Celestial Fury and his own family Katana, + he has the girdle of Stone (?) Giant Strength (the st:21 one) equipped, so he's an absolute tank against all! His own family katana does not backstab, so I put that in his offhand, and the Celestial Fury in his weapon hand.

Just to note: As was mentioned in another thread recently Valygar can backstab with his family katana if you have the Baldurdash fixpack installed.

Do you have him near the back of the group? If so, he might just be taking so long to get around your other NPCs that he doesn't always get to the enemies in time.

All the Npc's Are good.You just need to know how to use them to the fullest.Valygar is one of my personal Favorites,Nice whit backstab and a nice Fighter.

I hate Valygar as well. Well, 'hate' isn't the right word. He's just SO far out of the way that I never bother picking him up.
