Harper Troubles ADD] Chap6 Spoilers

I am looking for some help in Chapter 6. I have the Lantern for the Elves but every time I try to give to them, a group of Harpers attacks me, joined by the Elves themselves which is instant suicide. I have Jaheira in my party, I sorted Galvaney out, dealt with Dermin and even got a promise from the Harpers that the whole Harper Hold thing was over. What have I done wrong? I can't get to the Elvish city and finish the game. Any hints, tips, etc. to overcome this obstacle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have all the patches?I am not sure but IIRC this is a bug. But as I said:I am not sure. Who is in your party and what are their levels?

Like Xen said, make sure you have all the patches. If that doesn't work try the Baldurdash Fixpack.

Oh yeah. You should tag this as containing some minor spoilers. Not everyone who comes to the forum has been that far in the game. And they don't necesarily want to know about it yet.

I would say swab the poopdeck with the blimey bilge rats. ohh wait talk like a pirate day is tomorrow. but seriously when I get stuck or somthing I slaughter my way out

Not an option in this case. The Elves are scripted so that if they see the PC and party fighting anybody on that map except Drow, they turn hostile to you. And if the Elves go hostile, then Elhan goes hostile, which means you can't finish the game.

One possible solution? If installing the official BioWare patch and the BaldurDash Fixpack doesn't work, you can go to some other map--ANY othe map--and CLUA in a duplicate Elhan, and give the Lanthorn to him instead.

Did you have any encounter with TDD's character Xzar, he can cause a lot of troubles with HARPERS! Or maybe you have made a mistake with Harpers, anyway obey Xen...
