If you have a theif lock pick the door of the ship. Don't go in the ship via The Sewers because once you enter you will be face with a massive fight with about 8 guards and the Captain is very good with the Throwing Axe.

Entering from the door outside, only a few guards will come up and start with you, you can kill them fairly easily.

It get's a bit hard when fighting the mage near the next bit and there's a trap on one of the stair. You can stealth and find trap, thief can stay invisible for a few mins when finding traps. Cast Web as close as you can and get archer or people equiped with range weapons and finish mage off first and the rest is easy. (sometimes they have protection spell, breach or pierce them)

This battle is fairly easy with the right tactics. As Heartseeker said it is more difficult fight if you enter from the sewers but for shear conveinence sake I prefer to do it from the sewer entrance as I like to do a certain quest in the sewers first. I asume that's also the entrance you have entered from.

It would help to know who's in your party but I'll tell you how I do it. As soon as the dialogs over I have Nalia cast hold person on the cleric. He's a pest because he likes to summon skeletons. That should take him out of the fight, it should work but if it doesn't reload. Next I have Anomen cast hold person again this time on Captain Hagean. I then send my best warrior to take out the held Captain killing him fairly quickly and my other melee fighters take out the cleric. Once those two are dead my fighters all join together and kill the remaining guards who are quite weak. Battle over.

In the next fight with the two wizards and guards I find it is important to take out the wizards fast. I have Yoshimo hide in shadows and sneak up behind the Gnome. Then I have all my other characters charge the slaver guards. Once there spotted and the fight starts I have Yoshimo backstab the Gnome. Usually these means he starts to panic and runs away so you can pick him off at your leisure. First though you need to kill the other wizard. Cast dispel magic on him to remove his protections,(this will also remove the gnomes if he didn't panic). I have Nalia blast the human wizard with a wand of lightning I found until he dies I then have my best melee fighters kill the gnome(more difficult if he's not panicing and he has two mirror images memorised so you may need another dispel magic). Once the gnome's dead it's a simple matter of killing the remaining guards who are quite weak.

Good luck and I hope this helped!

 • Have your brother show you how to create your own screen name and password for the Ironworks forums.
 • Entering from street level is easier.
 • Once you're inside, win the first little scuffle as quickly as you can, and get ready for another: 4 or 5 guys that started out in Captain Haegan's room (where you would have emerged had you entered via the sewers) are coming toward you. They can be dispatched without much difficulty.
 • The place *is* trapped. Turn your Thief Invisible in some way and go scouting for them, or if you feel lucky, you can juggle Traps & Stealth at the same time.
 • Wizards are a pain in the ass--take them out of the fight quickly by using spells that require them to make a Save vs. Death (I believe Stinking Cloud is an excellent example). Magic Missile does wonders to counteract Mirror Image.
 • Use your Thief's (or Ranger's) Stealth to find out exactly where the enemies are. Try to draw them to you one at a time.

Sorry guys for the bother - my sister managed to crawl onto IW while I was away, as Six guessed. I'll have to remember to log out from now on, since she's getting a little more computer wise. On the plus side, she managed to defeat the 'slaves' after all. I'm not so sure I want to let her have her own account; the main page will be flooded by posts similar to this but I might look into it if she promises to be good.

Thanks for looking after her anyway, guys!
