Best sorcerer abilities ? Aerie ability? ADD] ToB HLAs

What are the best high level sorcerer abilities? I have only Comet at the moment, but soon I'l have to choose another. Aerie have something with 10D10 blunt damage - does enemy magic resistance matter ?

I think the only spell that does 10D10 blunt damage is implosion, and Magic Resistance will not stop this.

As for Firebreath and Comet, I don't think MR stops the damage from these either.

As for the best spell Sorcerer quest spell, it's probably Improved Alacrity, which, during a time stop, will allow you to unload most of your spell book and unleash pure destruction upon enemies around you.

I'm not being a ass about it or something, but you just started 3 new Threads, all filled with questions; all of them could been packed in a single Thread. Pulling Threads out the ground like there nothing isn't appreciated here

All of the questions you asked could have been in 1 single Thread even when the questions don't have anything to do with each other.

I would say to get planetar's they are powerful. Sorceror's abilities are the same as Mage abilities though, aren't they?

Implosion and Dragon's Breath are indeed not stopped .. not too sure about comet though ...

EDIT: Checked and indeed:
Dragon's breath - Not stopped by Magic Resistance
Implosion - Not stopped by Magic Resistance
Comet - *Stopped* by Magic Resistance

Dragon's Breath may be the powergamer's choice, but I have always found it more amusing to cast several comets onto a lone enemy and blissfully visualise what the scene must be like as fiery boulders of DOOM impact onto the target, making him/her literally inbetween a rock and a hard place.

Lower Resistance and/or Pierce Shield takes care of any Magic Resistance problems.

if you want an awesome visual of what actually happens during the comet spell from casting to completion, play Planescape: Torment, also by Black Isle, IIRC it's a 7 or lvl 8 spell that does essentially the same thing, but with w 30 second video of what's really going on.

I second that, but don't take it too strictly, Merlin. Especially not on boards with slow flow such as this. It would be a different story in SoA forum, of course.
