My CD is scratched and won't install, if I burn a copy or the CD will it make a difference? Thanks

A cd cleaning kit might be able to fix it . If you can find a cdrom drive (some drives seem to be more sensitive than others) that can read the files off the cd you should be able to make backup.

Try copying all the files from the CD onto HDD. If you can`t copy some, try going copying them through your burner (ie, Explore the CD on your CD Burner). If there`re still files that don`t copy over, you might have to get another copy of the game.

doing a full install of the game could help too, copy all the files into a folder in the bg2 directory called CDx (where x is the cd you're copying) and then go into the baldur.ini file and change the location from the cd-rom to the directory where the cd is (full file path (ie C://programs/games/bg2 soa/cd2)
