Cant get Sarevok to rock

pretty simple actually, Sarevok, the ultimate boss in BG I is getting his ass wooped in my party
This is my fault probably, since he's a great fighter ... but he has only
156 HP, which is nothing compared to what he used to have when i fought him.

Further on, this is the actual question .. :
What did you equip him with ?
His AC is -7 now .. -9 with ring of GAXX, and that's nothing.
I want him to wield a two-handed sword, so no shields, but how do i get his AC down ( without spells ) ... plz help, -7 is pathetic !!! [img]graemlins/crying.gif[/img]

Use the same principle of the Kensai. Fight as a flanker, not as the main tanker. That is, send in somebody with better AC to attract the enemies first, then use Sarevok to pick them off one by one.

PS: Might want to consider 5* in Halberds.

Anywayz, you're right ... me at PfMW, Stoneskin and MI whooping away at improved haste with Holy Power + Righteous Magic + Hoy might ( in that order for max. stats and an INCREDIBLE THAC0 ). And then an Improved Hasted Sarevok who comes crashing in from behind with soul reaver +4 .. heck .. no enemy hits anything after soulreaver gets his 5 - 6 hits off [img]tongue.gif[/img]

AC is vastly overrated. By the time you get to ToB, any enemy worth the XP can easily hit you unless you have an AC lower than -20. Likewise, you can hit any enemy unless they have an ungodly low AC.

To make fights easier, concentrate on wearing armour that has resistances - forget about AC. Also, focus on dealing out as much damage per hit as you can. Two handed weapons, Katanas and so on.

Don't use Improved Haste on Sarevok - Greater Whirlwind is better for him:

• He uses Two Handed Weapons - and thus can never get 10 ApR, even with Improved Haste, so GWW is better for him.
• His special "Deathbringer Assault" has 5% (or was it 3%? Can't remember...) of occurring, so he needs a high Attacks per Round rate - pick GWW.
• If you're planning to use The Halberd you'll want, again, a high Attack per Round rate - pick GWW.

Yeah, I'm investing most in GWW .. though i have 2 Hardinesses too.
Maybe I'll make it 3, but he wont be the enemy's target that much anywayz if i can help it [img]smile.gif[/img]

Have Sarevok wield the Vorpal Blade... I tell you it works wonders... before hee even dies he has killed 3 Fire Giants

I'm a big fan of the Soul Reaver actually, definetly against Fire-giants and big-damage monsters. 5 hits get a fire-giant a 10 penalty to his THAC0. The soul reaver makes an enemy with a lot of HP's no more dangerous than an enemy with low HP, since the high HP lets Sarevok hit him enough to make the enemy's THAC0 useless. Every non-Boss ceases to be a threat after 5 - 6 hits ... after a GWW the THAC0-penalty would ideally be !! 20 !! , that's a lot

Yes, Soul Reaver and Sarevok are indeed a good couple.

Daan, do you have the Sola Mod installed?
If so, the "Eclipse Avenger" and the "Soul Reaver +6" will both fit Sarevok perfectly.

Have the sola-mod installed yes .. but I'm allready in ToB ( with the ravager).
I fought my poison-groupies,.. but never encountered the Eclipse-avenger...
though from what i read in other posts i need Solaufain for that right ?
'Cause I only installed the Solaufain-md for the improved Irenicus, tougher mind-flayers, golems, random encounters etc., i didnt install the actual Solaufain-romance ( i was allready far beyond the Underdark when i installed it anywayz ).
But I like the name, eclipse-avenger .. [img]tongue.gif[/img] Sounds promising ,...
Could you give me his stats [img]graemlins/angel.gif[/img] ?
