Im afraid I have a bit of a technical problem...
For some reason my (lawful evil) monk has been permanently blinded. There is no blind icon on his character, but when he walks off on his own, he can only see about 1 foot. This is really annoying, as I dont want to dump this character (I managed to roll 96 ability points... he is worth keeping!). I looked in Baldurdash, and there is mention of a bug where permanent blindness can occur, so I tried to download the fix. Unfortunately, I am a real idiot when it comes to computers, and I dont know where to put the downloaded stuff. Could someone please tell me what file to put the zip files into. Please spell it out for me, cos I have no clue. Thanks Tomonagi. |

I had the same problem with a -25% magic resistance tacked on me by who knows what. There might be some things you can try:
1) Use Shadowkeeper ( www.mud-masters.com/ ) and select a save game. Go to the Affects tab for your monk and if it shows the blindness affect, just delete that line. 2)Have you tried the cleric HEAL spell or any type of cure/dispel magic spell? 3)I've not heard of that Baldurdash fix before, but to install, if it asks you to select a BG2 override folder then just follow this instruction: Right click on My Computer, select Explore, select Hard Drive, select Program Files, select Black Isle, select BG2 SOA, and select Override. Then click on OK to extract the override files. [ 03-05-2002: Message edited by: Kaneida ] |

AFAIK "Remove Curse" should do the job. Also IIRC installing the Baldurdash fix won't fix your active savegames, but only take effect on new games.

Hello again,
Thanks for the hints and tips. Im afraid that nothing has worked for me though. I am still as blind as Friar Tuck after the last bottle of meths. I have tried: greater restoration, heal, raise dead, remove curse, harpers call and dispel effects. None of these have stopped my character from being blind. As I said above, I dont really want to restart another monk, as I got such an amazing roll with this guy. There is no blind icon anywhere about my character, and there is no mention of it in my characters infomation page. He has just been utterly blind since Irenicus' dungeon (where he was blinded by a few steam memphits). Any other suggestions? Thanking you all in advance Tomonagi. |

Have you tried the Shadowkeeper yet? That's how I removed my nasty negative 25% magic resistance affect. I'll wager that will work. Just make sure you go to the AFFECT tab for that character and delete the unwanted affect. But make sure thats the affect you want to remove.
