I like to restart BG2 with a sorceror, I'll be glad if you share your experiences with me about Darkest Day. Is it worth of it? Or it sounds too much amateur or onofficial? Do you vote for a pure BG2 or TDD?

I found it to be pretty bad and can't recommend it. There are some nice touches and I like many of the new class sub kits, but the game itself felt really tachy. Example, I journeyed to the Trollford hills to find its identical to the outside for windspear hills (just with different monsters), I then enter the dungeon and find myself in an exact replica of the temple sewers, I battle myself through to get to the exit and lo and behold, I'm in another location identical to the temple sewers, eventually, I get through and the actual dungeon is identical to the inside of the windspear dungeon, even with the same traps and keys required to open the doors. I mean where is the ornginality? Another place I went to was just a rip off of the Friendly Amn Inn from BG1. It just seems to me like they've taken existing locations from BG1/2/IWD and pasted them together and randomly added some existing monsters from these games, there looked to be very little original content such as locations that Team BG had actually created and I didn't like that, far too repeatitive. It might improve but I didn't want to give it the time after what I'd seen. I also found it to be incredibly buggy, full of spelling mistakes in item and kit discriptions, and many of the kits special abilities didn't work, or had further restrictions/advantages that wern't mentioned. Even the lastest patch left the mod full of bugs. You can also buy +4 and +5 weapons from Bernard in the Copper Cornet right from the start which makes your party too powerful for the beginning of SoA and spoils it a little. If you want to try it then go ahead, but unless you've got a fast internet connection, the 200+ MB download isn't worth in IMO.

I installed it... liked the kits. Started playing, and hated it, did these guys ever learn to spell? It was just terrible and spoiled it completely

Well thanks for your comments, hope that there's more to come, all comments welcome..
One more thing, I'll be glad if you can help me. I like to install Darkest Day but there's a problem. When I click DOWNLOAD NOW! button it takes me to personal server or something and it requires my sign up for download. Sign up requires lots of blah blah and credit card number, membership etc any other way to download?

sounds like your using Game Spy to d/l it, under the list of personal servers there is a list of public ones (NGI, Blueyonder etc).
As for the mod, well i have almost completed it and must admint that it was a little buggy. HOWEVER it is an excellent add-on for SOA. It is not as of yet compatible with TOB, so you can only run one or the other (doh!!). - The new NPC's are fun, but i found myself going back to the SOA ones more and more. HOWEVER, characters like Robillard, Adario and Kivan are quite good. - The new kits are a bit weak really, but playing a Drow is kinda cool BTW there are loads of new kits - The new items can be a little buggy (very rarely tho, only happened twice to me so far) but are nicely crafted and add a whole new dimension to the game if you've played it before. BTW there are literally hundreds of new items!!! - The new areas arent really new exactly, but the quests are and the ones i have done so far have been quite excellent. - In all i think it is a much better add-on than TOB. The designers are all gamers and know what we want!!!(lots of cool items, quests and funny dialogue) |

I'm just starting a new SOA game, still waiting for TOB so I plan to restart anyway BUT there is no way I would even consider TDD. I made the mistake of trying DSotSC on BG1 - some nice ideas, but balanced isn't an adjective I'd use, neither is stable. I don't see much evidence that things have improved.
