I think you're in for a surprise as being low level, a +2 weapon is a mighty powerful object. Remember in BG2 when you get the +2 Sword in the Sewers and it seems so powerful. You are now 8+ levels lower.

If you are after +3 or +4s, very rare is the answer, and then only as Weapon +1, +3 or 4 vs. special beasties.

Happy hunting!

There are plenty of +1 weapons in the game, +2 are the good weapons(They are slightly more rare. There are only only 2 +3 weapons(that I know of) but one of these is cursed and finally a +5 weapon, but expect an exceptionaly hard battle to obtain this one.

First off depends on whether you've got TotSC. Dealing with regular BG first -

Dagger - Dagger of Venom +2
Short Sword - Short Sword of Backstabbing +3
Long Sword - Varscona +2 (+1 ice damage)
Short Bow - Eagle Bow
Long Bow of Marksmanship
2H Sword - Spider's Bane +2 (+ free action)
Warhammer - +2 (+1 Electrical damage)

I think that's about it for "unique" weapons, there are lots of +1 weapons, with occasional +2...

With TotSC the picks are these -
Quarterstaff +3
Sling +3
2H Sword +3 "The Worlds Edge"
Sword of Balduran (for a VERY special purpose)

If I missed anything, let me know.

Nothing comparable to Carsomyr but boy, will you appreciate them.

TotSC is Tales of the Sword Coast - the official add-on to BG.
Chances are if you've just picked it up recently then you will have it (6 disks rather than 5 - at least in the English version).
It adds a few new locations, some interesting quests (a very tough dungeon, but worth it) and some little bonuses within the rest of the game (like adding Scimitars to the start).

Don't confuse with DSotSC - an unofficial add-on from TeamBG, which whilst quite impressive I wouldn't recommend.

I've also remembered another weapon from TotSC - Bala's Axe, which affects the target with the "miscast magic" spell - good for taking down Wizards.

I'd also comment that in BG1 magic weaponry isn't quite as important as in SOA, sometimes other items can be far more useful due to the much lower levels.

TotSC, is Tales of The Sword Coast and is the expansion pack for BG. You should be able to find it in any good computer games shop. I bought BG 1 and TotSC came with it

I agree with the others in recommending ToSC. In addition to providing about 20% more game area, it almost doubles the EXP cap, so your guys won't hit the cap until you're almost done with the plot (In straight BG1, you hit the cap when you were about halfway through).

One thing--Bala's Axe. The description says that it does Miscast Magic with every hit, and can Dispel Magic once per day. I never was able to use its Dispel ability, and frankly never even saw much reason to see if its Miscast ability worked (I'd rather pincushion Mages with arrows than whack 'em in a melee). So don't get your hopes up about Bala's Axe, it doesn't even give a THAC0/Damage bonus.

The weapons that Antonius listed are all correct. He missed a +3 Morningstar, but that's understandable--the weapon's cursed and useless anyway. (There is a Helm that will counteract the weapon's negative effects, but since it's Cursed, you still can't switch to another weapon.)

The Eagle Bow is a +2 Short bow. I believe the Longbow of Marksmanship is +2 as well. There are also a Composite Long+1, 2 Long+1s (although you don't find the 2nd until the very end, so forget it) a Short Bow+1, three Slings+1, Light Crossbow+1, a Light Crossbow of Speed (1 extra attack per round, and I think it's +1 enchanted as well), and the Heavy Crossbow of Accuracy (+5 THAC0, +2 Damage). There's also a unique sword that's +3 against all types of shapeshifting enemies (I don't know if Druids count), and +1 against everything else. ToSC adds a second copy of this 'unique' sword. The Dagger of Venom adds 1 point of poison damage per second--incredibly useful, especially against spellcasters. Enemies who fail their Save vs. Death pretty much can't do anything except stand there and wince from the poison for about 2 rounds.

Scimtars: Druids can only use Scimtars if you have ToSC installed. There's a Scimtar+2, and if you want a very hard fight, two Scimtars+3, one of which also gives a +2 AC bonus and may only be used by Good characters. (These last two Scimtars may also be used by Thieves, and may be used to Backstab as well.)
