Romance Troubles

I've got a neutral evil human berserker/theif and I'm trying to romance Viconia. My lovetalk and romanceactive and match are all 1, but my ViconiaRomance was some huge number, like 28384 or something, I've also noticed it doesn't decrease, I set it to 1 and hung around the Athkatla docks for a few minutes but still no talk. I then went and tried resting, no talk. I restarted the game, found her, and checked ViconiaRomance and it was still some huge number. I had been playing the game for several hours with no lovetalk and very little talking amongst my npcs, could this have something to do with installing ToB?

"a few minutes"

Try pausing the game, going to get something to eat, or some other long task, then come back. If nothing has happened, then you have a problem. But something should happen when you come back. Its real time dependent, not game time dependent.

Isn't that variable *supposed* to be a huge number? You shouldn't tinker with global variables unless you're sure what they should be changed to. When my romance with Anomen was active, the Romance variable was a huge number too.

Seraph's tip does work so I'd say try that (pausing the game for a while and then see if she starts talking. Apparently the romances use realtime, not gametime, so it should work)

i had exacly the same problem. i never worked out how to fix it. i played for 9 hours andnothin.not a peep out of her.

Ugh! Not a thing? Is there nothing I can do? I was really looking forward to being her "male". Anybody know of any patches or something I could use?

I normally tinker with the lovetalk variables. For example if you have Viconia, open your savegame in Sk and go to Vicki's portrait decrease the lovetalk variable by 1 and then save. Restart the game and the love talk should progress, repeat this if your stucked again..
This always work for me but the safest I think is the pause thingie. Thats all, I hope it helps.

It's real time dependant? How come it always comes on, right at the end of a quest? Like, in SoA right when you walk in on the dragon?(Pick one)

I believe it is, one thing Im wondering is, why the yochlol didn't appear when i romance Vicki...

Actually I think only Jaheira's romance is realtime (an hour in between dialogues). Others are about 5(?) days game time between dialogues.
