Weird bug - special abilities button

I just finished up at Saradush when I noticed a weird bug concerning Aerie's special abilities button. I had a minor sequencer memorised and I could have sworn that I didn't use it. But the button is grayed out, and can't be accessed.
I tried casting minor spell sequencer, but I got a message that you can't create one when there is one already existing.
Imoen also has a few sequencers memorised (minor and spell sequencer) and it shows up in her special abilities bar. So this is a bug.
Any help?

I think you can erase it in your spellbook. There is a button on the bottem of the screen, I think

It's not the spell in the spellbook, it's the minor sequencer spell that has already been prepared & ready to go. The special abilities button (the one that looks like a compass star) is greyed (or rather browned out) out and nothing happens when I click on it.
Imoen's sequencers otoh, are readily accessible when I press the button when her portrait is selected.
Aerie can still cast spells - it's just that she's got a sequencer prepared (2 magic missiles) but I can't use it or erase it.
Help!

Hayashi,

two suggestions posted on the Black Isle board for fixing this bug are

1) drop the character then bring them back into the group.

if that doesn't work...

2) kill the character then raise them.

Thanks. I'll have to go for the second option, as the first is definitely out (Aerie is my character's romance interest).
I don't think there are any consequences if a NPC is killed then immediately resurrected - is there?

Oh, that would be a bad choice if she's your cleric... unless you have a rod of ressurection, that is

Uhmm.....isn't that gonna affect your reputation. Hayashi, check my topic to, about the alignment, it has something to do with your problem I think, did you ever install the patch for ToB???

I think that thing at the bottom of your spell book is only for Contingency

No, the button (F12 on the keyboard when the NPC's portrait is selected) is for innate abilites. Imoen has a minor sequencer and a spell sequencer prepared, and the icons show up there as they should.

Anyway I did as Kezardin suggested - killed her then resurrected her. Now the buttons work fine, the romance is still active, and my reputation is still intact (as witnessed by Sarevok's *constant* grumbling)...
