This is either a bug, a problem, or just a nasty little something that ToB does and SoA doesn't.

Finally got everything set up ready to play - a new installation of SoA & ToB.
I imported my 6 characters over from my final save of BG1, and started up a solo multiplayer game. After the intro scene, I noticed that all my characters had their maximum HP reduced by 20% - 35% !! Both my 2 fighters that had 112 HP prior to the import, now only had 81 HP, and my mage lost 17 HP from his maximum. NOT NICE !!

I know this HP reduction does not happen if you just have SoA without ToB.

Has any one else had/noticed this problem?
Is there any way to import your characters to a SoA + ToB game with their HP intact?

If not, then heed the warning ... import your characters into SoA BEFORE you add ToB !!

I'm not entirely certain, but I believe this has to do with the difficulty setting that you have the game on. If you haven't already, try setting it to 'Core Rules' difficulty and then importing your characters. Hopefully they should keep the HP they had previously. You can then save it and set the game back to whatever difficulty you wish to play at.

This happened with my Cavalier, when I switched the game to 'normal' once.

It's a bit of a shot in the dark but give it a go and see what happens.

Thanks for the info - I'm still using the same difficulty setting as I was the first time I was importing characters, but I'll test a few different settings this weekend and see what happens.
